Before I got into the home business industry I may have attended 2 or 3 live events in my life. It was not because I don’t like them it was because I simply didn’t know so many of them even existed.

Now that I am in the home business industry, It feels like I am at a live event almost every Month. In fact my biggest expense ever year when it comes to tax time is always live event tickets, hotel and travel fees.

So the question is, are live seminars or home business events worth it and should you attend them?

My answer is it depends!

It depends on what event you go to:

If you attend events that are focused on your industry or niche and they are loaded with value going to an event is worth it every time. My advice is to find the top 3 events in your industry every year and attend. Then locate the leaders in your niche and see if they have live masterminds and attend them as well

It depends on your approach to the event when you get there:

The more you go to events the more you start to meet people. The cool thing is you will see those people at every event you go to. As your business improves it’s easy to lose focus and not pay attention to the event and spend most of your time hanging out at the bar or catching up with friends. Save that for the bar at night after the event and do your best to be a student at the event and absorb as much value as possible.

It depends on what you do after you leave the event:

This is really the case with anything, but nothing is going to magically happen that makes your rich. If you are smart the best thing you can ever do at a live event is actually make a new fiends that you can network with that has a skill you don’t have.  Then you want to make sure you implement at least 1 things that you learn within 24 hours of you leaving the event. The other thing that you must do is take notes and share that information with your team.
